Correlation coefficient (ρ) measures the strength of a linear relationship between two variables and can have any value from -1 to 1. The absolute value of the coefficient indicates the strength of the relationship. That is, the larger the absolute value, the stronger the relationship:1 means a strong positive relationship; -1 means a strong negative relationship, and 0 means no relationship at all.
